Cactus Coalition

The Cactus Coalition consists of change agents, influencers, and passionate citizens striving for a better Arizona. We’re enacting positive change in Arizona by tackling the issues that matter most. We start with facts, build awareness in the community and foster solutions through dynamic partnerships.

represents the social responsibility messaging of the Cactus Coalition.  On multiple platforms we present the facts on serious issues impacting our communities in order to provoke thought, dialogue, and ultimately enact change.

Support for Solutions

12News is committed to supporting local causes and initiatives in the Phoenix community. Working with the TEGNA Foundation, a corporate foundation sponsored by 12News’ parent company TEGNA Inc., the station’s community grantmaking will support the themes of the Cactus Coalition by helping to provide assistance to non-profit organizations.

TEGNA Foundation serves the greater good of the local communities where TEGNA’s 62 local broadcast stations operate and do business. Through its other programs, TEGNA Foundation also invests in the future of the media industry, encourages employee giving, and contributes to a variety of charitable causes.

Tegna is helping to improve lives in communities

Our primary mission is to serve the greater good of the community

Equality Health - Founder & CEO

“Mental illness affects roughly 20 percent of all adults and is the leading cause of disability in the U.S.
At Equality Health, we believe that all people should have equal access to quality care that encompasses physical, and also psychological and social well-being. Our aim is to break down the barriers of stigma around mental illness, and connect individuals with compassionate, personalized whole-health care. We’re proud to align with the Cactus Coalition in our fight to do what’s right.”

"I am so proud of the important work the Cactus Coalition is doing. We live in an age where bullies no longer roam the halls of the school, instead, they prey on their victims online, on social media. The damage they inflict is intensely hurtful, even deadly. The Cactus Coalition stands for change, a resource for those who are bullied and their families to get the tools they need to fight back and end this terrible byproduct of modern technology."
Dean Ditmer
"We must pull together to reverse the negative and unintended consequences connected to technology. Social media has created a myriad of detrimental trends within society. People are suffering and it appears everyone can relate in one way or another. Fact is, these issues have become borderline epidemic. The Cactus coalition brings together government, media, business and education to address these very important issues."
